GOALS OF THE CANADIAN CADET PROGRAM:

This rewarding program develops Leadership, Citizenship and Physical Fitness in Canadian youth. Cadets are encouraged to become active, responsible members of their community. They learn valuable life and work skills including teamwork, leadership, and citizenship. Cadets also reap the personal benefits of increased self-confidence and physical fitness, learning how to take initiative, and make decisions. Cadets make valuable contributions to Canadian society on a daily basis in terms of environmental, citizenship and community activities and services.

WHO MAY JOIN?

Girls and boys; aged 12 to 18 years.

WHEN YOU CAN JOIN?

At anytime of the year when the Corps meets. Tuesday evening would be a great time to join. If you have turned 12 all you need is your birth certificate, provincial health card and your parent or guardian to sign the application form.

COST

There is no cost to join. This program is provided totally free to Canadian youth.

WHEN DOES THE CORPS MEET?

The Cadet Training Year is September to June:

• The Corps’ training meetings are Tuesday evening 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM (1830 to 2130).
• Team practices, air range, sports and optional training are held throughout the week. See Corps Training Calendar.
• There are also weekend exercises, sail training, trips and competitions.

WHERE DOES THE CORPS MEET?

RCSCC TRILLIUM meet on the second floor of the North Simcoe Sports & Recreation Centre, 527 Len Self Blvd, Midland, ON L4R 5N6.

HOW TO APPLY:

To be eligible for membership as a cadet one must:
• be a legal resident of Canada;​ NOTE: A legal resident of Canada is a Canadian citizen, a landed immigrant, or, the dependant of a person who is lawfully resident in Canada on a temporary basis for the purpose of education or employment.
• provide proof of provincial health insurance coverage or equivalent;
• be at least 12 years of age;
• not have attained 19 years of age;
• normally be in good physical condition;
• not belong to another corps or squadron; and
• be acceptable to the Commanding Officer (CO) of the cadet corps or squadron.
